Jesse Sharp is Sharp Studios Head of Acting instruction. He teaches monologue technique, professional audition coaching for both on-camera and stage auditions, scene study, and intro to acting privates and group classes. He is also an Acting Career Consultant and can help with video editing, resumes, online presence and more. He heads the Personalized Craft & Coaching program which helps new professionals reach their full potential early in their careers.

Jesse is a classically trained actor, singer, comedian, and teacher based in New York City. He spent the early part of his career working professionally doing commercials in Los Angeles, and he was heavily involved in the Improv and Sketch scenes. He studied and performed at The Groundlings, IO West, Upright Citizens Brigade, Comedy Sportz and was a founding company member of National Comedy Theatre New York, as well as a regular performing standup at The Comedy Store and more.

On stage, he's traveled the US and the globe leading tours as Gomez Addams in The Addams Family Musical directed by Jerry Zaks, Walter Hobbs in Elf The Broadway Musical and Vince Fontaine in Grease. He's worked at several notable regional theatres including Goodspeed, North Shore Music Theatre, Cape Playhouse, The Utah Shakespeare Festival and many more. He is also the co-founder/co-artistic director of Loose Canon Collective, a classical theatre collective that takes new and unusual looks at Classical Texts. With Loose Canon, Jesse and his partner Beth Lopes created The Hamlet Project, a humorous series of unique Hamlet Productions that played to rave reviews in New York, Chicago and LA for the past 9 years.

On Television he has appeared on Blue Bloods, City on a Hill, Almost Family, Succession, General Hospital and The Man Show. Film work includes several indie shorts and features including the recent festival favorite, Angels Perch.

His teaching career has ranged from teaching undergraduate acting and voice and speech at UC Irvine, to Kids Shakespeare at The Utah Shakespeare Festival, Youth Improv at the NOHO community center and several masterclasses in Musical Theatre Acting all over the country. He's also taught masterclasses in comedy at the Tony Award winning Goodspeed Operahouse.

He holds an MFA in Acting from UC Irvine and a BA in Theatre from UCLA. He has studied privately in New York at The Atlantic Theatre Company and with the legendary coach and Actors Studio member, Gene Frankel.

His approach to acting is intuitive and is based on the individual students needs and experience level. He uses a bit of everything in his teaching that he's gathered in 20 + years of professional experience and study; a little bit of Meisner, a little bit of Robert Cohen, a little bit of Del Close...and a lot of simplicity and common sense.

Jesse is thrilled to continue his signature program for 2022:
