Lexie Dorsett Sharp
Lexie is a New York based actress, originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She is a proud graduate of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music where she received a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre.
Professionally, Lexie has toured as the leading lady Elizabeth Benning in the National Tour of Young Frankenstein the Musical, and as a Morticia replacement/Alice cover in the International tour of The Addams Family Musical, and Emily Hobbs in ELF the musical!
She has performed throughout North America and Internationally in roles such as Sheila in Hair, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Vivenne in Legally Blonde, The Drowsy Chaperone in The Drowsy Chaperone, Elsa in The Sound of Music, Nancy in Oliver, Sharpay in High School Musical, Jolene in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as well as countless other productions.
Lexie’s vocals can be found on several new works CD’s and was in the original cast of Halloween Hullabaloo that debuted to rave reviews at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC. Lexie has also performed with both the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Lexie also specializes in helping high school seniors hoping to major in musical theatre find a musical theatre program that could be right for them; and also helps them develop their audition package, as well as helping clients navigate the logistics of college applications and essays. She's also had the pleasure of teaching Musical Theatre at the University level in Fall 2012 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The class included instruction on audition technique, acting through song, and culminated in the first ever musical theatre showcase at U.A.B.
Lexie is trained in the patented vocal technique of the Amy Murphy Method and has been fully certified to teach clients through Amy's studio. Lexie has clients all over the globe and maintains healthy voices via skype lessons or in person in New York through her associaton with Amy Murphy Studio.
